Are you looking to get out of the house this St. Patrick’s Day and paint the town green? Well, we have a few ideas for you related to St. Patrick’s Day Events 2016 in Winnipeg MB. In addition to a few details on the grand St. Patrick’s Day Parade in the downtown, we have a few party spots featuring specifically Irish festivities.

5th Annual St. Patrick’s Parade in Winnipeg

Irish bagpipers in a paradeThis year’s St. Patrick’s Parade on March 19 (the Saturday after St. Patrick’s on the 17th) will start and end at Tavern United Rooftop at 260 Hargrave St. (at the corner of Graham Avenue). All are welcome to participate in this 20-30 minute parade down the streets of downtown Winnipeg, and the entire community is encouraged to come out and enjoy the costumes and festivities! The parade will begin at 3pm, though all are encouraged to arrive early for fun and to get a good seat/walking spot. Check out the Facebook page for up-to-date information.

Silver Heights St. Patrick’s Day Show

On Thursday March 17 from 7pm –2am, Silver Heights Restaurant and Lounge at 2169 Portage Avenue will be featuring Venus Murphy. Tickets are $10 at the door. Come early to get a good seat. Check out the menu and location here.

Shamrocks and Shenanigans at the Good Will Social Club

On March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, starting at 9pm, the Good Will Social Club at 625 Portage Avenue will be hosting a night of all nineties hip-hop and R&B. “Shamrock Shakes” will be on special all night and the cover charge is just $5 before 11pm. Check out the DJ lineup and learn more here.

All Celtic Weekend at King’s Head Pub

While other places may focus just on St. Patrick’s Day itself, the King’s Head Pub at 120 King Street will be having live Celtic music Thursday (St. Pat’s), Friday and Saturday. Music will start on Thursday at 6pm and feature the Dust Rhinos, with special guests Celtic Way. Celtic Way will return Friday at 10pm, and the Dust Rhinos will also headline Saturday at 10pm. 4th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration

Starting at 5 p.m. on March 17, check out this celebration highlighting Winnipeg’s best of Irish Music, song and dance at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain.
