5.3-Liter V8 EcoTec3 Engine
Next up is the Chevy 5.3-liter V8 EcoTec3 engine with 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. The V8 engine offers a towing capability of 5,035 kg.
6.2-Liter V8 EcoTec3 Engine
Top of the line engine for the 2017 Chevy Silverado is the 6.2-liter V8 EcoTec3 engine with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The 6.2-liter V8 engine offers best-in-class 5,670 kg of towing capability.

Chevy’s EcoTec3 engines use three fuel-saving technologies active fuel management, direct injection, and continuously variable valve timing to give the full-size pickup truck impressive fuel economy without sacrificing its power output. To create a perfect balance between the Silverado’s power and acceleration, an 8-speed transmission is standard on High Country and Crew Cab LTZ Z71 models and available on LT models that are equipped with either the 6.2-liter V8 engine or the Max Trailering Package.
