Is the Chevy Trailblazer going to come back?
Revisiting the Trailblazer
Does anyone else feel like powers that be who are in charge at Chevrolet are feeling a bit nostalgic? We’ve already seen the return of some popular cancelled models, like the Blazer which now exists as a crossover SUV. In researching the answer to a customer’s question, we stumbled across something that left us asking, ‘Is the Chevy Trailblazer going to come back?’ The original Chevy Trailblazer was a fairly sizeable SUV in its original iteration. When the 2021 model is delivered to dealerships in North America, it will feature slimmer dimensions and a very efficient powertrain. Additionally, just because it might be small in stature, it will be big in capability – especially with its off-road-themed ACTIV trim grade. Let’s take a look at what we can expect to see when it arrives.
“The Trailblazer doesn’t simply let customers express their personal style. It encourages it with uniquely styled trims that allow buyers to select a vehicle that reflects their lifestyle,” Stuart Norris, design director of global Chevrolet compact SUVs, said in a press release. “Its design is bold, confident and full of personality.”
Chevrolet is going to slide the 2021 Trailblazer between the existing Trax and Equinox models. It will have two rows of seating that will have room for up to five passengers. Like any good crossover SUV, the 2021 Trailblazer will be filled with very smart cargo storage solutions. When the 40/60 folding second row of seats is properly folded away, objects up to 8.5 feet long will fit inside the 2021 Trailblazer. All told, the new Chevy vehicle can hold up to 54.4 cubic-feet of cargo. The driver and passenger will also be able to store a lot in the large center console.
It’s still a little early in the development of the 2021 Trailblazer to have a complete picture of its performance specifications. Owners will be able to choose between a turbocharged 1.2- or turbocharged 1.3-liter engine. When the vehicle is properly equipped, it will be able to produce up to 155 horsepower. All-wheel-drive is an available option for owners of the 2021 Trailblazers.
