2017 GMC Acadia vs 2016 GMC Acadia
Decreased Weight
The 2017 GMC Acadia will weigh some 318 kilograms less than the 2016 GMC Acadia. This means lower fuel consumption and positive changes to handling. General Motors estimates that the new Acadia fuel consumption could be as low as 8.4 L/100km on the highway with the new 2.5-litre engine.
New Engine Options
The previous Acadia came with as single engine option, but the 2017 GMC Acadia with be available with a new 2.5-liter engine or new 3.6-litre engine (which will offer significant increases in horsepower). Learn more about the new Acadia engines at this blog post.
Digital Safety Sensing
In addition to the forward collision and blind spot alerts that were available on the 2016 Acadia, the 2017 model will be available with automatic forward braking with pedestrian detection, a surround vision camera, a safety alert seat, and IntelliBeam automatic headlights.
New Standard and Available Convenience Features
The 2017 GMC Acadia is also going to offer several neat new features that will help deliver top value to families and commuters. Some of these new features include:
- Rear seat alert – To let you know if anything has been left behind in the back
- Improved split-folding second seat
- Drive mode selector which adjusts the chassis and powertrain settings
- Available All Terrain model
- Continuously Variable Ride Control Suspension (available Denali trim only)
