Based on the all-wheel drive 2017 Chevy Trax, The Trax Activ concept car features a new front-end, a unique interior, and premium technology.

Structural Advantages of the Trax Active Concept

With a wider track, a unique lifted suspension, and 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, this concept can perform admirably in many different driving environments. It offers more ground clearance, more traction on the highway, and improved approach and departure angles. The front and rear fascia redesign and custom fender flares provide both practical driving and off-road style.

Trax Activ Interior

The Jet Black interior of the Trax Activ Concept features Satin Graphite accents and all-weather floor liners. The interior of this Trax concept also features the standard cargo advantages of this compact SUV, which include a flat-folding front passenger seat and a 60/40 rear folding seat that allow cargo of various sizes to be fit into the vehicle.

The Chevy Trax Activ concept has a Satin Sandstorm exterior, with red tow hooks, tinted headlamps and taillamp lenses, and a Thule accessory roof basket and custom LED light bar mounted to the top, all of which add to both the confident appearance and the off-road and cargo capability of this unique and engaging concept.

We don’t have any solid information about this yet, but we know that Chevrolet is expanding the U.S. production of special edition 2017 Chevy SUVs, and it’s possible that this new inventory will be available in Canada as well.

What special edition 2017 Chevy SUVs may be available in Canada?

We have an entire post about the 2017 Chevy Equinox special editions that will be available in Canada (classic black Midnight and Summit White Sport models), but what other special edition 2017 Chevy SUVs can we hope for? According to recent Chevrolet announcements, the U.S. market will be getting not only the 2017 Chevy Equinox specialty models, but also special edition 2017 Trax and 2017 Traverse models.

The Chevy Trax is an excellent small crossover. Powerful, well, equipped and stylish, we didn’t think it could get much better for those in the market for a small SUV, but it has! The Trax will now be available with a stylish Midnight Edition, which will bring a little intimidating pizzaz to the already engaging and fun form of the Trax.

2016 Chevy Trax Midnight Edition Release Date

The Midnight Edition on the 2016 Chevy Trax will go on sale in North America in February 2016. No news yet when or if this vehicle will be hitting our lot here in Portage La Prairie, but it’s always exciting to see new, bold vehicle models coming out in our Chevy vehicles. Keep watching this space for updates.

“Introduced just a year ago, the Trax has quickly become an important vehicle for Chevrolet, bringing in new, younger and more female buyers to the brand,” said Betsy Flegg, senior marketing manager for Chevrolet Crossovers in a recent press release. “The small SUV segment is the fastest growing in the industry and models such as the new Trax Midnight Edition provides customers an expressive option.”

Trax Midnight Edition Details

Based on the LTZ trim, the 2016 Trax Midnight Edition will come with black wheels, bezels, beltline molding, and door handles. The rear license plate holder will also be black. The external colour, natually, will be black. In the interior, the seats will feature gray accents, while the floor mats will have gray piping, to allow the dark interior to pop. Previous vehicles that have received Midnight Editions include the 2016 Chevy Silverado and the 2016 Chevy Colorado.

2016 Chevy Trax Specs

Each Chevy Trax offers the handling and maneuverability of a small car with the utility of an SUV, including up to 1360 litres of cargo space. It also features a 1.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine which can deliver up to 6.9 L/100km for highway driving and zippy acceleration. When it comes to legroom, the Chevy Trax helps shoppers relax inside its comfortable cabin. You and your front-seat passenger have 1036 millimeters, or 40.8 inches, of legroom in the front row and there are 907 millimeters, or 35.7 inches, of legroom in the rear row of seats.

Trunk Room

If you need some room for your gear or equipment, the 2019 Chevy Trax has what you need. Behind its rear row of seats, you can fit your luggage inside its 530 liter, or 18.7 cubic feet, cargo capacity. You can fold down the rear row of seats for a maximum cargo capacity of 1371 liters, or 46.4 cubic feet, of space. This should give you the space you need for zipping around town or cruising on the highway.
