2017 GMC Canyon Canadian Release Date
The new 2017 GMC Canyon will be available in Canada starting in the fourth quarter of this year. In addition to the standard trims that were available on the 2016 GMC Canyon, the 2017 model of this midsize truck will be available in the elite Denali trim and the off-road optimized All Terrain X model which has first appeared on the GMC Sierra.
We’ve covered more information about these two specialty models in our previous post about the 2017 GMC Canyon release date. Other new and updated features include a revised IntelliLink infotainment system with a seven-inch colour touchscreen, standard Teen Driver feature with that system, an available heated steering wheel and three new exterior colours: Dark Slate Metallic, Mineral Metallic, and Red Quartz Metallic.
Powertrain Enhancements on the 2017 GMC Canyon
The 2017 GMC Canyon will also be available with a new 3.6-litre engine and advanced eight-speed automatic transmission. Featuring advanced fuel-saving technology like continuously variable valve timing, Active Fuel Management (also known as cylinder deactivation) and direct injection, this powertrain should be able to deliver excellent low fuel-consumption numbers while also delivering premium towing and hauling. This engine and transmission should be able to tow up to 3,175 kilograms, which comes second in the segment only when compared to the Duramax diesel engine also available on the 2017 GMC Canyon.
We believe that this same efficient and powerful new transmission and engine combination should also be available on the 2017 Chevy Colorado. For more information on the 2017 GMC Canyon Canadian release date and new features, contact Craig Dunn Motor City.
