Any aficionado of the GMC brand is familiar with the elite Denali trim that has been available on other vehicles like the 2016 GMC Sierra and the 2016 GMC Terrain. Now we have the great news that the Denali trims is going to be available on the 2017 model of the excellent GMC Cayon midsize truck. The 2017 GMC Canyon Denali world debut was this week in advance of the official unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
2017 GMC Canyon Denali Release Date
While we already have excellent pictures and a lot of high expectations for this new model of truck, we’re not going to see it on the lot. The official release date for this truck puts it at some point late in 2016.
Available in crew cab and four-wheel drive models, the 2017 Canyon Denali will sport a distinctive chrome grille and 20-inch ultRa-bright-machined aluminum wheels with painted accents. Available in six exterior colors, the Canyon Denali will also sport chrome fog lamp bezels, five-inch chrome assist steps, a polished exhaust tip, and standard spray in bed liner.
Other standard feature on the 2017 GMC Canyon Denali will include:
- And eight-inch touchscreen GMC IntelliLink with Navigation and phone integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
- Automatic climate control and a heated steering wheel

Powertrain on the 2017 Canyon Denali
The 2017 GMC Canyon Denali will come standard with a 3.6-litre V6 engine, but be available with the all-new 2.8-litre Duramax turbo-diesel which is the same engine which earned both the 2016 GMC Canyon diesel and the 2016 Chevy Colorado diesel some of the top marks for fuel efficiency in North America.
