What Safety Features Are Available on GM Vehicles?

Chevy Buick GMC Safety Features

From the very structure of the vehicle to available advanced active crash prevention features, the safety advantages on Chevy, Buick and GMC vehicles offer a high degree of protection. Many vehicles offer as many as ten airbags for surround protection in the case of a crash. Most GM vehicles also come with several months complementary OnStar support, which includes the ability to notify emergency services in the case of a crash. Here are a few more safety features available on GM vehicles.

blind spot warnings make passing safer on the highway
a rear cross traffic alert warning lets you know that someone is behind you as you try to leave a parking space

Rearview Camera

Standard on many models, the rearview camera can help with parking and backing up by giving you an unobstructed view behind your vehicle. It can be especially useful watching for children.

Blind Spot Warnings

This feature will notify drivers if there is another vehicle in their blind spot. This can prevent someone trying to pull into a lane when they can’t see, or don’t notice, a car beside them.

Rear Cross Traffic Alerts

This feature greatly simplifies backing up. Your vehicle will warn you if a car is coming up behind you as you are pulling out of a parking space, which means fewer accidents.

Lane Keeping Assist

Many Chevy, Buick and GMC vehicles are available with lane keeping alerts and lane keeping assistance. These warn you if you are drifting out of your lane on the highway, and, in some cases, will help gently steer you back into the correct lane to avoid collisions.

Forward Collision Alert

With forward collision alert, and the even more advanced automatic braking, drivers can be warned of possible collisions in time to minimize or avoid impacts. With automatic braking, a vehicle will even begin to stop on its own when it senses a possible forward impact.

The exact features available on a given model vary wildly, but most of these are available on at least one trim level of all the Chevy, Buick and GMC vehicles available here at Craig Dunn Motor City. Other exciting feature options include a Safety Alert Seat and the new Back Seat Notification on the 2017 GMC Acadia.

What vehicles have Wi-Fi?

Does the Buick Enclave have Wi-Fi?

Recently, GM has announced that a variety of its vehicles would have 4G LTE Connectivity capabilities. At first this new feature was only available for Chevy vehicles, but now it has expanded to include even more the General Motors lineup. Today we will be helping to answer the question, “does the Buick Enclave have Wi-Fi?“.

The 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot capabilities are making their way to the Buick lineup. Now passengers of the Buick Enclave will be able to use Wi-Fi on the go. The Wi-Fi hotspot is on whenever the vehicle is on and it comes with a three-month/3 GB data trail. This service will allow you to connect up to seven devices while on the go. This is particularly beneficial when you have to keep back seat passengers entertained and to stay connected to news and updates while on the road.

The Buick Enclave also includes six months of OnStar Guidance Package service. The OnStar’s Remote Link Mobile App allows smartphone users to control vehicle functions, access vehicle information and send directions directly to the vehicle. The Enclave also has the Buick IntelliLink colour touch radio that will enhance your overall driving experience. It provides an available navigation system and other exciting features to help you get where you need to go.

If you are interested in learning more about the Buick Enclave, call or visit Craig Dunn Motor City in the Winnipeg, MB area today. How to connect to your Buick’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot

Learning how to work advanced technology can be tough, not to mention frustrating, but our team here at Craig Dunn Motor City has your back. We’re going to give you a step by step guide, teaching you how to your Wi-Fi enabled device to your Buick’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot.

Connecting to Buick’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot

  1. The first step to connecting to your Buick’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot is finding your SSID and password. You won’t be able to connect your device to the hotspot without these two things, and there are multiple ways to find your SSID and password. Probably the easiest way to find them is to hit the white voice command button on your rearview mirror. When the systems says “OnStar ready,” you’ll want to reply with “Wi-Fi settings.” Once you do this, your SSID and password will appear on your Buick’s display. Another way to find your SSID and password is to pull open your  RemoteLink® app and click the hotspot tab, and the information will be displayed. The final way to find your SSID and password is by pushing the blue OnStar button on your rearview mirror. You will be connected to an OnStar advisor who will walk you through the process.
  2. Once you find your SSID and password, you’ll probably want to change both your SSID and password to something that is easier to remember. You can change your SSID and password in the settings tab of your RemoteLink® app or by pushing the blue OnStar button on your rearview mirror.
  3. You are now ready to connect to Wi-Fi. Keep in mind that your Buick’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi can accommodate up to seven devices at any given time, and you won’t be able to exceed that number. To connect your device, go to your device’s settings menu and turn on Wi-Fi. Your device will automatically detect the Wi-Fi hotspot, and once it recognizes the hotspot, click on it. You will then need to enter in your password. Once that is done, you are all connected!

The system allows users to easily stream movies, play games or read book, but if you’re out of service range or data, you’ll probably run into issues. You can purchase more data from an OnStar agent by pushing the blue OnStar button on your rearview mirror. For more information about Buick’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot signal strength, watch the video below!
