Outfitted with the 1.4-litre turbocharged Ecotec engine, the 2016 Chevy Cruze will be able to deliver fuel consumption ratings of just 5.6 L/100km on the highway for the LS and LT models and 5.9 L/100km for the top-of-the-line Premier. In city driving, the 2016 Cruze will offer a fuel consumption rating of 7.8 L/100km.
These fantastic numbers are boosted by the Cruze’s decreased weight for this model year, and efficiency technology like engine stop-start. This engine is matched to either a six-speed manual or six-speed Hydra-Matic automatic transmission. This powertrain is also rated for 153 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque.
All together, a 2016 Cruze LS with the new engine, compared to a similar model in the previous year, offers a fuel consumption improvement of 26 percent in city driving and 18 percent on the highway.
“The all-new 2016 Chevrolet Cruze is a more efficient and sophisticated evolution of the brand’s best-selling global car,” said Laura Pacey, brand director, Chevrolet in Canada, in a recent press release. “The next-generation Cruze elevates the segment with innovative safety and technology features that are accessible to compact car customers.”
This new engine and its fantastic mileage numbers are far from the end in fuel efficiency technology and styling advancements for the Chevy Cruze. A diesel model (which will offer even more impressive fuel efficiency) should be available in 2017 and a hatchback Cruze model will be available this fall. Buick recently launched a new OnStar feature that’s designed to make you a better driver called OnStar Smart Driver. But how does this system work? More importantly, does this system actually make you a better driver? Read on for details!
Buick’s OnStar Smart Driver is now part of OnStar’s Basic Plan, so subscribers will have access to this feature at no additional cost. The system is constantly monitoring driving behavior in an effort to maximize the vehicle’s overall performance. Drivers will need to enroll in OnStar Smart Driver, and once they do, they’ll be sent monthly feedback about their driving performance. Hard braking, hard acceleration, late night driving, distance driven, time spent idle, speeds over 80 mph and average speed will all be included in the monthly report, as will tips for enhancing driving skills.

The 2017 Chevy Silverado High Desert truck at SEMA 2016 is based on the production truck and package that will be available across North America. This truck also features a few extra accessories like an illuminated black bow-tie grille emblem, all-weather floor liners, a performance brake kit and performance exhaust kit. This vehicle also features an advanced lockable storage system and the Magnetic Ride Control suspension.
This midsize truck is designed to help surfers get themselves and their gear to the very best locations around the world. This truck features a custom carrier for surf boards, a concept lifted suspension, 17-inch tires, quick-drying interior upholstery, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, and a new 3.6-litre V6 engine (rated for 308 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque) with a concept exhaust system. It can trailer more than 3,100 kilograms.
While we’re not sure if the Silverado 2500HD Alaskan Concept will ever make its way to new inventory here in Portage La Prairie MB, we hope some of these great snow-handling features will be available. A 1.8-litre four-cylinder engine rated for 138 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque was standard on the 2016 Chevy Sonic. The 2017 model will be getting a new 1.8-litre engine that has not been rated, but should deliver similar fuel efficiency compared to the previous year. A 1.4-litre turbocharged engine will also be available, rated for 138 horsepower.
