They decided to quit their jobs, build a trailer and just drive. They live in the wild and create their own camp each day and they do it all with the help of a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. Mark Christy and Nives Riddles have chosen to travel through Arizona’s deserts and into the Sierra Nevadas. They are also documenting their journey on their personal blog called Camp by Camp. The both have a passion for the outdoors and they decided to act on it after spending a weekend hiking to the Grand Canyon. They soon after sold everything they owned and bought a small military trailer that they converted into mobile living quarters. Another crucial part of their operation is their 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. The truck helps them get where they need to go, even though the journey is off the beaten path.

The couple often travels to secluded locations where it would take hours to get back to find help, so its important for them to have a vehicle they can rely on. So far it hasn’t left them stranded or stuck anywhere. They have no real destination in mind, they just travel in the direction they want to go and see where it leads them. They have been on this journey since fall of 2014, and they don’t show any signs of stopping. They are just going to keep going until they don’t want to anymore.

2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition Release Date

We’ve loved the 2016 GMC Terrain. It’s a five-person crossover that delivers on top features and comfortable handling, with a touch of style. And for 2017, this great crossover just got better, with a speciality Nightfall Edition, which brings both the features and the look of the Terrain to the next level. What will the 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition look like?

While the official debut for the 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition is not until the New York Auto Show later this week, we already have a sneak peek for this great vehicle. The Nightfall Edition will be available in four colour options with blackout accents similar to those in vehicles like the Silverado Midnight Edition. Some of those accents include:

• 18-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with gloss black spokes
• Gloss black fascia accents in the front and the rear
• Black rear license plate surround trim, outside mirrors, and luggage rails
• Exterior colour options: Summit White, Onyx Black, Graphite Grey Metallic and Crimson Red Metallic

The Nightfall Edition will also come standard with a 2.4-litre engine with a fuel consumption rating of just 7.3 L/100km on the highway with front-wheel drive. It will be available in SLE-2 and SLT trim levels.

“The new Terrain Nightfall Edition adds another great-looking and well-equipped choice for this popular SUV – one that will stand out in a crowd,” said Mike Speranzini, brand director GMC Buick, in a recent GMC press release.

Technology on the Nightfall

The 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition will come standard with the effective and user-friendly GMC IntelliLink system featuring a 7-inch responsive touchscreen. The 2017 Terrain will also be available with 4G LTE connectivity and the ability to become a Wi-Fi hotspot.

A rearview camera will be standard on the Terrain Nightfall. Advanced safety features like rear cross traffic alerts, blind zone warnings, forward collision alerts, lane departure warnings, and rear parking assistance will be available.

Other exciting features on the 2017 GMC Terrain Nightfall Edition are an available programmable power liftgate with memory-stop functions and a standard MultiFlex rear seat that can be adjusted forward or back up to eight inches to maximize either passenger or cargo room. With the rear seats folded, this 2017 Terrain model will offer 1,810 litres of cargo space.

Now we have the great news that the Denali trims is going to be available on the 2017 model of the excellent GMC Cayon midsize truck. The 2017 GMC Canyon Denali world debut was this week in advance of the official unveiling at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

2017 GMC Canyon Denali Release Date

While we already have excellent pictures and a lot of high expectations for this new model of truck, we’re not going to see it on the lot. The official release date for this truck puts it at some point late in 2016.

Available in crew cab and four-wheel drive models, the 2017 Canyon Denali will sport a distinctive chrome grille and 20-inch ultRa-bright-machined aluminum wheels with painted accents. Available in six exterior colors, the Canyon Denali will also sport chrome fog lamp bezels, five-inch chrome assist steps, a polished exhaust tip, and standard spray in bed liner.
Other standard feature on the 2017 GMC Canyon Denali will include:

2017 Chevy Performance Parts

With the 2016 SEMA Show, Chevrolet has released a number of performance-enhancing parts that will make the Camaro, Cruze and various Chevy trucks burn even more rubber (in a good way). We’re not sure how many of these 2017 Chevy performance parts will be available here in Manitoba, but we are sure that these or enhancements like them will be available some day. It’s fun to get a preview of them now.

Camaro Performance Enhancement

While the base 2017 Chevy Camaro can burn up the track or the road, adding new 2017 Chevy performance parts can give this great muscle car even more oomph. SS models with the V6 and 2.0-liter engines can be enhanced with parts ranging from a brake upgrade (which features six-piston front calipers and sturdier rotors), a suspension upgrade (with enhanced handling or lowering) and even a new performance air intake.

Chevy Truck Performance Parts for 2017

Both appearance and practical accessories and enhancement will be available for Chevy trucks (including the Silverado and Colorado) in the new year. One of the newest options is a performance exhaust kit. Available with the 5.3-liter engine and 6.2-liter engine, this kit can deliver an extra 10 horsepower or 7 horsepower (respectively). Other available truck accessories will include custom wheels, side steps, bed liners, tonneau covers, and floor liners.

Cruze and Malibu Performance Parts

For those seeking a little more street-level zip for their Chevy sedan, there are also options, like a suspension lowering kit with stiffer springs, an enhance cornering system, and a new front stabilizer that can drop the 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatch 0.4 inches. The Cruze will also be available with a refined air intake and and exhaust system, while the Malibu will also be available with enhancements. The Cruze and Malibu Blue Line Concept cars at SEMA 2016 debuted some of these premium parts.

This last weekend the 2016 Chevy Camaro premiered in Canada at the 17th Annual St. Catharines Powertrain Show & Shine. This week for Flashback Friday, we’re not flashing back very far at all. Last weekend was the 100th Anniversary of the Indianapolis 500, and Chevy also had a milestone! Once again a Chevrolet vehicle was the official pace car for this historic race, and this year it was none other than the 2017 Camaro SS 50th Anniversary Edition. 2017 Chevy Camaro Pace Car for the 2016 Indy 500

That 2017 Chevy Camaro was the ninth Chevy Camaro to be the pace car for the Indy 500 and the 27th Chevrolet vehicle to have that honor since 1948. We don’t know a lot about the 50th Anniversary Edition of the new Camaro (which is scheduled to be released later this year), but we know that the 2017 Chevy Camaro pace car for the 2016 Indy 500 featured an Abalone White exterior with the Indianapolis wing-and-wheel logo on the side and “100th Running of the Indianapolis 500” on the doors.

What is a pace car at the Indianapolis 500?

Much as we love the look and the aerodynamic style of the Chevy Camaro, it doesn’t look like a traditional Indy car, and it’s not supposed to. The pace car has two roles: it leads the competing vehicles around the track for the Indy’s rolling start and, in the case of a caution period, the pace car will go out again to lead the vehicles in a slower route around the track.

This second job happens commonly if there is an accident and vehicles have to reduce speed to avoid crashing. Traditionally, the winner of the Indianapolis 500 (this year Alexander Rossi) will be given one of the year’s pace cars.

Main Street Farmers’ Market

The Main Street Farmers’ Market is located in the Neechi Commons parking lot on Euclid and Main. The market has some great products including produce, crafts, baked goods and buskers from around Winnipeg and the North End. It is open from July – September every Friday from 12-5 pm.

Another great option is the River Heights Farmers’ Market in Winnipeg.
