When we think of the Chevy Traverse we immediately picture a vast and practical SUV that can take on the passenger and cargo challenges of a large family. Up until now we haven’t had much information about the new incarnation of the Traverse, but Chevrolet has just released a teaser image of this vehicle, and some preliminary information about what we can look forward to with the new model year. What Might Be New on the 2018 Traverse?

The teaser image for the 2018 Chevy Traverse (visible at the top of this blog) shows a very similar profile to the 2017 Chevy Traverse that we have come to know and love, however, there are some subtle differences. We think that the window line of the new Traverse is slightly more curved. There may also be subtle differences with the front and rear fascia, though the lighting of the teaser image makes it difficult to say.

Chevrolet has already released information that the Traverse will have seating for a maximum of eight passengers and will be on the path to have the top cargo space and third-row legroom dimensions in the segment. We will be able to learn more about features and capabilities when the 2018 Chevy Traverse has its world debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit on Jan. 9, 2017.

Canadian Unveiling of the 2018 Chevy Traverse

While the world debut of the 2018 Traverse will be early next month, the Canadian unveiling for this practical and attractive large SUV will be at the Toronto Auto Show in mid-February. Maybe at that point we will find out if this vehicle will be available with any of the special edition packages and features that were available in United States markets. The 2018 Chevy Equinox will make its Canadian debut at the Montreal Auto Show in late January.

The 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 convertible just made its debut at the New York Auto Show, and we are over the moon at the power and track-ready fun built into this sleek new vehicle, and its coupe counterpart. Outfitted with a 6.2-litre V8 engine rated for an estimated 640 horsepower, matched to either a six-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission, this sport-optimized wonder car is poised to burn up the road.

2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 Canadian Release Date

The coupe and convertible body styles of the 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 share a track-optimized chassis, engine and driver control system, and therefore can deliver on comparable performance. The coupe model will go on sale in Canada and across North America later this year, with the convertible version making its appearance at dealerships in early 2017.

The standard 2016 Chevy Camaro offers multiple engine options, including one that was honored as one of Ward’s Ten Best Engines, but the new engine and performance enhancements in the Camaro ZL1 are going to blow them out of the water. Some performance features include:

• Aerodynamically refined front splitter, rockers, front fenders and wing-style rear spoiler
• Performance Track Management and an electronic limited-slip differential
• A performance-tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride Control

The 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1 is 90 kilograms lighter than the previous model, which creates an improved power-to-weight ratio. That means even more engaging handling and maneuverability. Best of all, this vehicle is track-ready straight from the factory floor.

The ZL1 will feature stylish and supportive Recaro front seats and a suede flat-bottom steering wheel and shift knob.

The 2016 Chevy Colorado will also come in a Z71 Trail Boss version for those with a taste for off-roading. 2016 Chevy Spark Details

It was announced earlier this year that the Chevy Spark was getting a remodel, but there wasn’t a lot of information out yet. Chevy has recently released new and exciting specs and even some pictures to explore. The Chevy Spark has been completely redesigned for this new model and we can’t wait to see what it it like behind the wheel. Here are a few 2016 Chevy Spark details that we know so far.

The 2016 Chevy Spark has been upgraded inside and out. It has a more refined look with improved fuel efficiency, safety and technology features. It has has an all-new 1.4L engine that offers 16 percent more horsepower than the current model. The design details make it even more eye-catching than before. The front end features the Chevy signature dual-port grille that has large elliptical headlamps on each side. It also has very detailed headlamps that add to the Spark’s sophisticated. There are also three new colours to choose from: Toasted Marshmallow, Kalamata and Splash.

There will also be some new safety features available on the 2016 Chevy Spark. It will come standard with ten standard airbags as well as a stronger body structure. In addition, there are many new safety technologies available to help prevent collisions. These features include forward collision alert, lane departure warning, side blind spot alert, rear-vision camera system and rear park assist.

What Is a Blue Line Concept Car?

The Blue Line concepts will be a way for Chevrolet to test a set of aesthetic and performance enhancements to see if consumers would be interested in seeing the models available on the lot at dealerships around the world. While come concept cars never move beyond the trade show, others can enter the official vehicle lineup or even become their own brand, like the newly launched Avenir luxury brand.

Both the Chevy Malibu Blue Line concept and the Chevy Cruze RS Blue Line concept feature a Genesis White exterior (which appears bright white or light gray depending on the lighting), blue-tinted windows, and 18-inch slate blue metallic concept wheels. Chevy Partners with RVIA and NATM

There are plenty of reasons that families and individuals want premium towing power. Whether they need to haul a horse trailer to a fair around Manitoba, or enjoy moving a boat or serious cargo with ease, it is important for truck owners to have competent and easy-to-use trailering options. With the Recreational Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) and the National Association of Trailer Manufacturers (NATM), Chevrolet plans to make even better options for customer’s trailering needs.

We don’t have news about what advanced Chevy towing technology may come out of these partnerships. Fuel Efficiency Technology on the 2016 Chevy Camaro

The winning 3.6-litre engine also features multiple fuel-saving technologies. The Active Fuel Management cylinder deactivation system is one which allows the engine to disable two cylinders when optimal power and accleration are not required. Direct injection and continuously variable valve timing also allow the Chevy Camaro with this engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission to get about 10.2 L/100km in city driving and about 8.4 L/100km in city driving.

2018 Corvette options and packages

The Corvette will be celebrating its 65th birthday for the 2018 model year, and the celebrate, a new Corvette Carbon 65 Edition package will be offered on the 2018 Grand Sport 3LT and Z06 3LZ models. This special edition package is only offered on 650 vehicles globally, so interested drivers will want to jump on the bandwagon before all 650 are spoken for. The Carbon 65 Edition Package will include unique fender stripes and door graphics, black wheels, blue brake calipers, a new carbon-fiber spoiler, Carbon Flash badgers, a jet-black suede interior, Competition Sport seats and Carbon 65 Edition sill plates.

2018 Corvette standard features

Models within the 2018 Corvette’s lineup will also receive some new updates, with the Stingray now offering standard 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels, five new wheel options, available Magnetic Ride Control and a revised interior color scheme on the 2LT trim. The Z06 model will not only come available with the Carbon 65 Edition package, but it will also offer two new wheel choices and an available gray interior. All 2018 models will also feature a huge variety of upgrades and updated features, including:

• Standard HD Digital Radio
• Available Performance Data Recorder
• Enhanced rear-view camera display
• Jet black suede-wrapped interior

Next week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Chevrolet will debut an enhanced App which will combine the services offered through RemoteLink and the myChevrolet app.

The myChevrolet app previously offered digital access to roadside assistance, the Chevy owner’s manual, and vehicle information at the touch of button, as well as other features like the ability to easily schedule maintenance. OnStar services included remote locking and unlocking of the vehicle, monitoring the data use of the vehicle’s 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, remote start, and also the ability to get diagnostic updates.With the new enhanced app, all of these features will be available through a single smartphone app.

In addition to the convenience of having all your vehicle apps in a single location, the combined myChevrolet app will allow drivers to have a single user profile and a unified log-in for both sets of features. Customers will be able to customize the homescreen of this app by adding and removing the features that they use the most for easy control of their vehicle.

The myChevrolet app is currently available on the Apple App store for iPhone, or on the Google Play for Android. The enhanced version will be available in 2016 for select new Chevy vehicles, starting with model year 2010. The OnStar features available will still require Chevy owners to be an OnStar customer, but for those drivers who have both, this new system promises to offers a user-friendly combination.

We have just heard our first snippet of information about the 2017 Chevy Silverado and it’s extremely exciting. We have already been impressed by the capability and fuel efficiency of the Duramax diesel engine on the 2016 Chevy Colorado. With the new model year, 2017 Chevy Silverado HD diesel technology will be making a giant step forward with a new air intake system.

With the new Chevy air intake on heavy duty trucks, Silverado drivers will be able to confidently drive and tow even more. The new system works by drawing relatively cool air in through a top intake, forcing it through filters and systems to remove any excess water, and then streaming it efficiently to the engine. With this refined air intake, the Duramax diesel engine on 2017 Silverado HD models should be able to hold onto power and speed better under many conditions, including heavy rain or highway slush.

There is no news yet on a Canadian release date for the 2017 Chevy Silverado 2500HD, be we are excited about his new advanced air intake, which may also be appearing in the 2017 GMC Sierra Denali.

Other Advanced Chevy Technology

This new air intake is far from the first technological advance that will be available on Chevy models. In addition to new technology like a refined 10-speed transmission that was just release for the 2017 Camaro, Silverado heavy-duty models have previously enjoyed advances in digital steering, and advanced trailering camera systems. They decided to quit their jobs, build a trailer and just drive. They live in the wild and create their own camp each day and they do it all with the help of a 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. The Chevy Silverado 2500 helps this couple live life in the wild.

Mark Christy and Nives Riddles have chosen to travel through Arizona’s deserts and into the Sierra Nevadas. They are also documenting their journey on their personal blog called Camp by Camp. The both have a passion for the outdoors and they decided to act on it after spending a weekend hiking to the Grand Canyon. They soon after sold everything they owned and bought a small military trailer that they converted into mobile living quarters. Another crucial part of their operation is their 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500. The truck helps them get where they need to go, even though the journey is off the beaten path.

The couple often travels to secluded locations where it would take hours to get back to find help, so its important for them to have a vehicle they can rely on. So far it hasn’t left them stranded or stuck anywhere. They have no real destination in mind, they just travel in the direction they want to go and see where it leads them. They have been on this journey since fall of 2014, and they don’t show any signs of stopping. They are just going to keep going until they don’t want to anymore.

With the 2016 SEMA Show, Chevrolet has released a number of performance-enhancing parts that will make the Camaro, Cruze and various Chevy trucks burn even more rubber (in a good way). We’re not sure how many of these 2017 Chevy performance parts will be available here in Manitoba, but we are sure that these or enhancements like them will be available some day. It’s fun to get a preview of them now.

Camaro Performance Enhancement

While the base 2017 Chevy Camaro can burn up the track or the road, adding new 2017 Chevy performance parts can give this great muscle car even more oomph. SS models with the V6 and 2.0-liter engines can be enhanced with parts ranging from a brake upgrade (which features six-piston front calipers and sturdier rotors), a suspension upgrade (with enhanced handling or lowering) and even a new performance air intake.
